ZEPHYR BAR
NEW ROOFTOP STYLE BAR
A rooftop bar hiding inside an office floor. That was the starting point.
The upper level of the Montague Hotel sat largely unused. Good bones, no purpose, and an acoustic challenge that comes with putting a bar directly above a functioning hotel. CQ Hotel Group knew the space had potential. Getting the brief right mattered as much as getting the design right.
What emerged was Zephyr Bar. Earthy, verdant, warm. An operable roof courtyard that makes you forget you're inside. An olive tree rooted in the Greek heritage of the local community. Commissioned artwork by local artist Drapl woven into the walls. A greenhouse bar aesthetic that feels grown, not designed.
The acoustics shaped the decisions as much as the aesthetics did. Every material choice had to work twice as hard.
The result is a space that feels like it found itself. Like it was always meant to be there, one floor up, with the sky just above you and a very good drink in your hand.
