Jessica Hersch

DIRECTOR AND ARCHITECT
Jess is a third generation architect. Her dad and grandad both ran their own practices, so design, creativity and the business of building were simply part of growing up. She had some pretty inspiring footsteps to follow and has made her own mark every step of the way.
With over two decades in hospitality design, she founded Liife in 2020 around one simple belief: that great spaces should feel joyful. She is an architect, a mother of two, a self-described joy spotter, and someone who will never be found in all black.
If she wasn't an architect she'd be a psychologist. The curiosity about people, what drives them, how they feel in a space, is the same instinct that makes her so good at what she does.

Alisa Newey

SENIOR INTERIOR DESIGNER
Alisa has spent her career across both commercial and hospitality design, bringing a breadth of experience that shows in every project she touches. She has a genuine passion for materials, a sharp eye for sustainable solutions and a talent for finding the detail that makes a space sing.
Widely travelled and endlessly curious about how different cultures approach design and the built environment, Alisa brings a perspective to her work that goes well beyond the studio.
If she wasn't designing spaces she'd be painting them. Which probably explains a lot.

Nicole Immonen

SENIOR INTERIOR DESIGNER
Nicole brings over two decades of interior design experience spanning hospitality, residential, retail and commercial projects across Australia. From high end apartment developments in Adelaide to restaurant fitouts at Crown Casino, she has led design from concept through to completion across an enormous range of project types and scales.
What makes Nicole genuinely rare is the breadth of her skills alongside her design talent. She is a professional photographer and content creator as well as a designer, which means she understands instinctively how a space needs to look and feel, not just in person but through a lens. She has photographed and created content for many of the projects she has designed, giving her a perspective most designers simply don't have.
She was recognised by the Design Institute of Australia for her student work and has been published in multiple design and lifestyle publications. She is meticulous, versatile and brings a warmth and visual intelligence to everything she touches.iption goes here
Carrie Beasley

SENIOR DESIGNER
Carrie trained in architecture in the UK before building a career that spans interior design, architectural design and graphic design. That breadth is no accident. She started out doing menu designs for London restaurants as a side hustle, which turned out to be the perfect foundation for a career in hospitality design. She understood the industry from the inside before she ever picked up a set of drawings.
With over 15 years of experience across hospitality, education and beyond, she brings a rare combination of skills that makes her an invaluable part of the Liife team.
Always on the hunt for Brisbane's next great restaurant or exhibition, Carrie is the kind of designer who experiences spaces everywhere she goes. Japan is her greatest design inspiration. A glass of wine is her reward.

Emelia Brown

INTERIOR DESIGNER
From rearranging her bedroom every other week as a kid to designing retail and hospitality spaces today, Emelia's passion for interiors has always been there.
She honed her skills in the rapid-fire world of retail fitout, where speed, precision and getting it right first time are non-negotiable. That background gave her a superpower the industry rarely talks about: the ability to turn around beautiful, resolved designs faster than almost anyone else in the room. Work that has been recognised with award nominations along the way.
With over eight years of experience across retail and hospitality, she has a genuine talent for understanding what clients actually want and making it real.
When she's not at the studio you'll find her surfing, swimming or asking a bartender to surprise her. Preferably something fruity.
If she wasn't designing spaces she'd be painting them, graphite and paint on canvas, large scale.

BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION
Clare is the reason everything runs smoothly. A naturally organised problem solver who has worked across tech, finance, hospitality and entertainment, she has spent her career keeping complex operations moving and impossible deadlines met.
Give her a logistical nightmare and she's in her element. Give her a complex schedule and she'll have it sorted before you've finished explaining it.
An avid reader, Norway is on her list, and if she wasn't here keeping Liife running beautifully she'd be working at an animal shelter. We're not sure what that says about us.

Alison Ross

INTERIOR DESIGNER
BOYNTON ROSSI
Alison has been designing award-winning commercial spaces for over 23 years, with a career that spans luxury hotels, major restaurant chains, corporate fitouts and everything in between. She started at DBI Design on the Gold Coast working on Q1, Sea Temple and Peppers Resorts, then took her hospitality expertise to Edinburgh, designing Wetherspoons restaurants and other major chains across the UK before returning to Australia.
She has won Design Institute of Australia awards for Best Set/Display Design, Best Corporate Fitout and Best Use of Colour. She has worked with brands including Next Hotel, Macquarie Bank, Rio Tinto and ANZ Retail. She has run her own studio, Boynton Rossi, since 2009.
What sets Alison apart is her instinct for reading a brief quickly and resolving it confidently. Bold, edgy and always pushing towards the unique over the commonplace. She asks the right questions because she has spent two decades learning which ones matter.

Anika Spencer

ARCHITECT
ANIKA SPENCER ARCHITECT
Anika is a registered architect and project manager with over 13 years of experience specialising in hospitality. Hotels, clubs, sporting venues, she knows how these buildings need to work from the inside out.
Trained at QUT, she built her career across some strong practices including KP Architects, FKG Group and six years at BSPN Architecture before establishing her own practice in 2022. Her recent projects include the Dalby Hotel.
She brings rigour to contract administration and a genuine commitment to getting the outcome right at every stage. A trusted pair of hands and a collaborator who genuinely cares about the work.
She also has a Seinfeld reference for any occasion. Which we consider a non-negotiable quality.
Chriso Rosher

GRAPHIC DESIGNER
FREELANCER
Chriso knows her way round the adobe suite, and can take the most complex idea and make it easy to understand and beautiful all at once. With diverse skills she is able to pivot from way-finding, to branding and has the most infectious laugh around.
