ENTRY, BISTRO + KITCHEN REFURB

This one holds a special place.

Completed in 2016 while Jess was at BSPN Architecture, this was her second project with Danny Finch and the beginning of what would become a genuinely close working relationship. The kind that eventually follows you to your next chapter.

The design challenge was a tricky one. An awkward lift well, a curved staircase, shapes that didn't want to play together. Jess spent time trying to resolve them individually before the aha moment arrived. A sweeping timber screen, uniting all the awkward geometry into something cohesive and beautiful. Suddenly everything belonged.

Those moments are why we do this work.

The bistro followed the same warmth. Lush greenery, tropical fabrics, rattan and timber, a circular banquette seat that became the heart of the room. A space that felt genuinely joyful to be in.
